1950’s People’s Friend Sanquhar Gloves Worked in AsZu Alpaca

Knitting done. The left hand glove just needing washing and blocking.

The Sanquhar gloves made in 100% 2ply Shetland style alpaca in winter white and dark grey are finished apart from washing and blocking the second glove.

Washing softens the wool further and reveals a halo of fine fibres.

For the larger hand and so cosy

Just a little too large for my hand they will make a nice pressie for someone.  I will make a pair for myself on smaller needles and intend tweaking the fingers slightly, starting the little finger a little lower than the other fingers.  My gloves will have to wait though as I have two other pairs to finish now.

I enjoy knitting small intricate pieces with an interest in promoting wearing our art on craft on our hands. Gloves and mitts are the new socks!
